It's Wednesday again!  Time for another "What I'm Loving Wednesday" post with Jodi and Rachel.


1. It's National MS Awareness Week. Are you wearing your orange? Please make a donation to the MS Foundation.

 

 2. Spring shoes are out. I have been loving the ad emails I've been getting. I think I feel some new sandals coming soon...

3. After much fighting and frustration with the Apple Podcast app - I gave up. I downloaded the Stitcher app for listening to podcasts and love it! So simple and easy to use.
PS: I love listening to: Satellite Sisters; Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Knitmore Girls

 

 4. I feel like my submitted photos are taking a beating lately. It's ok - I know it's part of growing and learning. I keep thinking of Dory - and I'll keep swimming.

 

5. This song has been running through my head since Justin Moore performed it at his concert a couple of weeks ago. Tears me up everytime but it's lovely.

A little faith

I have felt there is a lot of sad news and bad news out there lately. This video helped restore a little of my faith in the world.

 

I have been enjoying Matt Nathanson's music for quite a while. (I hope to catch a show someday...)

His newest song "Headphones" is great! I loved it as soon as I heard it. Then... I saw the video -

 

 

Having been down this road with Little Miss, I think I cried through most of the video.

I know what an amazing thing it is to be able to hear things or have your loved one hear things they've never heard before!

 

THEN, I found this behind-the-scenes video and I was in need of a tissue again

Friday Fun, Summer edition

Yes, I said summer! (The cold hasn't frozen my brain....yet!)

It's been another bitterly cold, snowy week here (and in most of the country). We are under a winter storm watch (thanks, Maximus!) this weekend with 4-8" of snow predicted. So, I have decided it's time for something warm weather-ish.

Our closest Six Flags is building a new coaster, GOLIATH, opening in May. I am super excited!

Pull you lap bar down, keep all loose objects inside the car and enjoy the ride!

If I don't have anything big to post, I plan to have a "Music Monday" post. I hope you'll tune in...

Today's topic is:

CONCERTS!

I truly enjoy going to concerts. I like seeing the performers I listen to on the radio, live. I have been to several in my lifetime and hope I can continue to go through my life. In a silly way, I hope I'm that crazy old lady at shows that's still dancing and singing along. (And no, I'm not one of those who shows up drunk - I don't think I've ever gone having had A drink, let alone several...)

Anyway, I started to think about all the shows I've been to and started making a list. WOW! I surprised myself at how many I'd been to (most with my DH).

My parents took us to a couple of shows at a local theatre when we were kids: The Diamonds (you know-the group from the 1950s...). That was a fun show!

My mom (God love her!) took 5 of my friends and myself to see New Kids on the Block for my 16th birthday (some years ago...). How she dealt with the 6 screaming teenage girls she took, along with the THOUSANDS of others, I'll never know!  THANKS, MOM!!!!!!  (PS: DH - I would love to see one of their reunion concerts...just saying!)

I had the chance to see Bryan Adams when he performed at Illinois State (again, some years ago...). He's an amazing guitar player and put on a GREAT show!

I don't think I attended another concert for quite a while. In the 15 years my husband and I have been married, we have been to quite a few. Guess who we've seen the most times? (If you have read my blog for any length of time, you SHOULD know this)

2008: The Poets & Pirates Tour with Luke Bryan, Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes and Keith Urban (PS: Jake Owen played outside the stadium before the concert)

2012: Brothers of the Sun Tour with Jake Owen, Grace Potter and Tim McGraw

2013: No Shoes Nation Tour with Kacey Musgraves, Eli Young Band and Eric Church  [this concert will be posted about my post tomorrow...]

I have never been disappointed by one of his shows!

You know who else hasn't disappointed?

This lady:

Miranda Lambert plays a mean guitar and has an incredible voice. We've seen her twice and hope to catch her again soon!
