Movies on Monday

Unfortunately the holiday weekend is over and it’s back to work.

We saw a few movies over the weekend.

We went to see The King’s Men in the theater.
It was mediocre at best in our opinions. It was very slow and not very original.
⭐️⭐️1/2

We watched Ron’s Gone Wrong on HBO
It was a cute kids movie. Glad we watched it and we were entertained.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

We watched Encanto on Disney+
It was ok.
⭐️⭐️⭐️

What did you watch the past few days?

Sunday Post

It’s time for another Sunday Post with Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Feel free to link up and share with some wonderful bloggers!

Christmas has come and gone. We had a nice Christmas. We had our parents over for dinner on Christmas Eve. It was a wonderful way to start entertaining in our new house.

We spent Christmas Day, just the four of us. We had a nice breakfast, went to see The King’s Men movie, had pork tenderloin for dinner and relaxed. It was low key and wonderful.

I haven’t done much reading the past couple of months. Moving and settling in has taken most of my time. I did start this one this week and figure it will probably take me a couple of weeks to get through it.

I have set some reading goals for 2022:

*Read 75 books

*Read along with Book Girls Guide Read the World challenge

*No book buying

*Don’t be afraid to DNF a book I’m not enjoying

How was your Christmas?

What reading/book goals do you have for 2022?

Looking ahead

 Hello friends!

Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate. Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrated a few weeks ago and Happy Kwanza and Boxing Day to those who will celebrate tomorrow.

I’m sorry for the big absence! We bought a house and have been moving, settling in and working on the house. My time is starting to become my own a little more again. We have all been healthy and enjoying our new surroundings.

I have been doing some thinking about my blog in 2022, and I think I will be posting more about books, movies, and TV. (A little life and hobbies will still be sprinkled in…) So I hope if you enjoy any of those types of media, you will stick around and/or share my blog with your friends. Should I keep the name of my blog the same or change it? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I hope you enjoy your holidays and stay tuned, I plan to have some fun posts!

Movies on “Monday”

I know it’s Tuesday but I feel like I’m running behind on everything these days. Here are a couple of movies we have watched on Disney+ lately.

This was a fun Halloween Disney themed special. If you like the Muppets and/or the Haunted Mansion attraction, I highly recommend this one.
4 out of 5 stars

Black Widow is a mixed bag for how our family thought about this one. I think the general consensus is that it is overhyped.
I won’t rate this because I’m not sure how to.

Side note: I am over all the Marvel movies, I feel like they’re being overdone at this point.

What have you watched lately?

Book Review-Pink

I enjoyed this book a lot. It’s romantic suspense set during the holidays. I enjoyed reading Charlotte and Ethan’s story come to life. They understand each other on a deep level and it added a great element to their relationship.

This has a great storyline, intriguing characters and mystery. I highly recommend this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to the author and Kate Rock Lit tours for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Happy reading!

Sunday Post

I’m joining Caffeinated Reader this week for Sunday Post. Feel free to join in too! Let us know what you’ve been up to.

My post will be a quick one this week…

We are house hunting. My stress level is through the roof! The real estate market is moving so fast and the prices are crazy!

TGIF

Thank goodness it’s Friday! For a short week, it has felt very long.

Work has been busy and stressful. I don’t mind being busy but we’re getting ready for a couple client events and a new operating system.

I did finish a book this week that I really enjoyed. (Review to come)

We don’t have much planned for the weekend and I’m quite excited about that.

What are you up to this weekend?

Cover Reveal-Champagne Widows

 Synopsis:

Champagne, France, 1800. Twenty-year-old Barbe-Nicole inherited Le Nez (an uncanny sense of smell) from her great-grandfather, a renowned champagne maker. She is determined to use Le Nez to make great champagne, but the Napoleon Code prohibits women from owning a business. When she learns her childhood sweetheart, François Clicquot, wants to start a winery, she marries him despite his mental illness.

Soon, her husband’s tragic death forces her to become Veuve (Widow) Clicquot and grapple with a domineering partner, the complexities of making champagne, and six Napoleon wars, which cripple her ability to sell champagne. When she falls in love with her sales manager, Louis Bohne, who asks her to marry, she must choose between losing her winery to her husband, as dictated by Napoleon Code, or losing Louis.

In the ultimate showdown, Veuve Clicquot defies Napoleon himself, risking prison and even death.

Movies on Monday

We watched a couple of movies this weekend.

My thoughts on these:
Raya-I’m glad I watched it but don’t think I would seek it out to watch again.
Cinderella-well…. I wasn’t impressed! I felt like they had a pretty good cast but they didn’t give them much to work with for a script. So it felt like a bad musical to me.

Have you watched anything lately?

Sunday Post

I’m joining Caffeinated Reader this week for Sunday Post. Feel free to join in too!

LAST WEEK:
It was an interesting week last week. Our air conditioning in the house went out on Monday night. It’s such an old system that parts have been a struggle to get. Thank goodness you hasn’t been real hot!

Our daughter had her wisdom teeth taken out on Friday. She’s pretty tough and been handling her pain pretty well.

Other than that, it’s been work and laundry. Nothing real exciting!

CURRENTLY READING:

I’m enjoying both of them.

Thankful on Thursday

Happy Thursday!

I hope you have had a few things to be thankful for this week. I know I have.

*The weather has cooled off after a sweltering weekend, last weekend.

*Our air conditioning waited until after the heat broke to crap out

*Being contacted by an author to read and review her upcoming book. (Watch for a review in October)

*My husband helping me relax and find the humor in things the past couple of weeks.

What are you thankful for?

Happy Monday!

 Happy Monday friends!

How was your weekend?

Ours was pretty relaxing. I got some reading done. Laundry and light housework was done. I did some weeding and cut back some dead plants. We watched Cruella. I feel like a few things got accomplished!

While I was weeding a small section, I found some treasures in the dead plants. What the heck?!

What did you do this weekend?

I have really enjoyed this steamy romance series. This is book 5 and 5.5. These have been my favorite so far!
This is a 7 book series.

Hello friends and welcome to my stop on this book tour.

Thank you Kate Rock Tours for including me in this tour.

Genre: Women’s Fiction

Rating: 3 1/2 stars

Jeni and Logan keep meeting through a myriad of different events and obstacles. The story is good and the characters are great.
