We flew in & out of Albany, New York when we visited the Baseball HOF at the end of March. (You can read that post:

When looking at these pictures I am sharing, please remember the area had an almost 4 foot snowfall about 2 weeks before we visited.
It rained and snowed all weekend. The weather wasn't nice but we still had a good time!
After spending Friday morning at the HOF, we decided to be touristy around the area.
We visited the oldest covered bridge in America - a pretty 20 minute ride beside Ostego Lake to get to it.
We visited
Fly Creek Cider Mill for about an hour - tasted their samples and wandered around their huge store. We shipped a box of goodies home, YUM!
We had dinner that night in Cooperstown at
Mel's at 22 - which was a little "foofier" than we had anticipated but the food was ok.
Saturday, my Mr. asked if I would want to drive into Vermont to check out some covered bridges there. In looking at the map, we weren't "that far" from there. So we had breakfast and headed out.
(yes, I love quilt barns, too!)
We visited the Bennington, Vermont area. It was very nice, very pretty! We would like to go back to Vermont and see more of it.

We drove through the little town of Bennington and really liked it.
It was sugaring time in Vermont, so the steam was rolling out of all the syrup places.
And because we were really close to another state line, we drove VERY briefly through Massachusetts.
I waited and waited for the New York sign:
Right after I took this (sorry it's crooked - we were on the fly), we were plunged into a VERY thick fog.
We stayed in Albany Saturday night and flew back home Sunday afternoon.
It was a great trip and we found a few more spots to add to our travel bucket list!
