Travel Tuesday

This past weekend we made a little trek to St. Louis.
We love that city and love that it's not too far a drive!

We made a stop in Springfield IL at Cozy Dog for a late lunch.

Hello St. Louis!!!!

Note: currently the exit right over the river on 55 is closed so traffic is a mess.

We spent Friday evening at the mall and got ice cream from Fritz's - YUM!!!

Hanging in the hotel on Saturday morning.

We decided to spend Saturday in the city.
We had lunch at Pappy's Smoke House - YUM!
We wanted to take the boat ride - so we headed to the Arch. By the way, right now - there is a MAJOR construction project going on in that area as they beautify/update that area. So be prepared for roads that end and lots of people walking!

This is the rotunda in the Old Capitol - it is just beautiful and there is an awesome museum in there.

We got out boat tickets and had a couple hours to pass, so we decided to take a carriage ride. We had a GREAT driver who knew lots about the history of St. Louis and many of the landmarks. The kids really enjoyed it.

After our ride, we walked down by the river to hang out and wait. It was a gorgeous day!
Family us-ie under the Arch

"Be silly!"

We enjoyed our Mississippi River boat ride - it was about an hour and we got a little riverfront history.

Sunday (Easter) we headed to Six Flags.  PERFECT day and very thin crowds!!!!!  I don't think I will ever get to ride The Boss there, though. It's always closed when we're there...

Young Mr. and I waiting to ride American Thunder (yes, that's me in "enemy territory" wearing Cubbie Blue)

while Little Miss and Mr. wait to ride the train.

The weater was sunny and 70 all weekend - PERFECT spring weather!!!!

  2. Sounds like you had a great time here this weekend and did a lot of fun things! Too funny, the kids and I almost went to 6 flags on Easter, but ended up at zoo instead :)
