Vacation 2015 - Day 1

My blogging mojo has been less than lacking. So, I'm hoping posting about our vacation will jump start it again.

We took a week long trip to Las Vegas and Arizona. We had a great time and saw A LOT!!!  So, let me begin our adventures.

Day 1 - May 2

We had an early morning flight (6:30 a.m.) so we had to be up bright & early to make it to the airport on time.

Airport fun:

I was trying to take a picture of my Mr. when Little Miss stuck her grumpy face in there...

Airplane selfie!

Little Miss thought the tray table catch looked like a moustache.... I don't ask!

We landed in Las Vegas and we walked into the airport (where slot machines are lined up everywhere!) and Little Miss says (in total amazement) "They have an arcade here?!"  I was dying laughing! "Yes, and there are LOTS more arcades."

We picked up our rental van (which we all enjoyed) and headed out on our adventure.

First stop...Hoover Dam.

Our tour guide, Tom, was great! Very informative and entertaining.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Flamingo Road (about a minute off the Strip) - so we got a little lunch and checked into our hotel.

Now....we booked this trip before the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight was even announced. Mr. & I had been to Vegas on the weekend before but the crowd was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!  You could barely move on the sidewalks on the Strip. The security was so tight everywhere - cars were all checked; people were checked. Nuts...  So we stopped at a couple of casinos and were back to the hotel before the fight was over.
(I would not recommend going out there when there is a major sporting event - whoa!)

We wanted the kids to see the Bellagio Conservatory

and lobby chandelier

Little Miss was thrilled to see the Eiffel Tower and wanted this picture so she could tell everyone she'd gone to Paris.

And we watched Bellagio's fountains - I could stand there for hours and watch them.

We walked "next door" to Cesaer's so the kids could ride the curving escalators
Then it was back to the hotel to crash for the night - and we did!

Stay tuned for our further adventures....
