Day 4 - May 5
The Mr. and Young Mr. headed to the National Hardware Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Little Miss and I headed down to hang by the pool.
A good cup of coffee by the pool was a GREAT way to start that day!
The boys came back from the trade show, changed and we went to grab lunch. We decided to visit the Neon Boneyard - we are SO glad we did!!! Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable! We learned and saw a lot of stuff.
Little Miss has been called "Sally" by my brother since she was a little thing.
In tribute, in front of the "Sassy Sally's" sign.
Then off to:
This was a little disappointing but we did learn a little something about the history of atomic testing in the Las Vegas area.
A little backstory to this pic...We have a picture of Young Mr. when he was about 10 with a cutout of Marilyn Monroe where he posed just like she was. So of course, he had to ham it up again.
The Riviera closed on May 4 at noon - we missed being there for the closing.
And of course, what trip is complete without some sort of vehicle incident. When we went to Death Valley-the rubber trim on the top of the van came unglued and flapped around. My Mr. got some apoxy and glued that sucker down before we headed for Arizona.
Stay tuned for our Arizona adventures.
I love the Neon Boneyard it is such a cool place. Yeah that Atomic museum isn't that good, if you ever get a chance try to go to the Trinity Site in Alamogordo, New Mexico. They only open is once a year and it was where the first atomic bomb was assembled and tested. :)
ReplyDeleteI will keep that in mind. Thanks Jen
