Vacation 2015, Day 5

And so we leave Las Vegas at 6:30 a.m. to begin the Arizona part of our trip. It was a long day and lots of driving but we all really enjoyed it!!!!

We stopped to stretch at the Black Canyon Overlook. A beautiful way to start the day!

And when you stay out late the night before playing at the casino, this is how you sleep in the van.

Our first Arizona stop was Meteor Crater. This crater is over a mile wide - these pictures do no justice as to how big it really is!

My attempt at "artsy" through one of the telescopes

On to Petrified Forest National Park - it was really pretty and the colors in the wood were amazing. It was a little breezy but a pretty day.

The wind got her hair just as I took this

We drove on to the Painted Desert - the views and vistas were breathtaking.

This is the Painted Desert Inn. It was a popular stop along Route 66 - it is now the Visitors Center.

We got on a 66 roll. We stopped in Winslow:

This was our view as we drove to Flagstaff for the night.

Stay tuned for further Arizona adventures.
